The primary mission of the Mayor's Youth Advancement Council of Jonesboro is to involve youth in community issues and decisions, to advise the Mayor of the youth’s perspective, and to empower future leaders to become engaged within their community. The council is made up of local 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students from Jonesboro schools, including Jonesboro High, Nettleton High, Valley View High, and Westside High. The council currently has six task force committees:

- Diversity and Inclusion
- Health and Safety
- Planning and Engineering

The Mayor's Youth Advancement Council of Jonesboro will host a Spring Community Fair on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Northside Park (503 North Bridge Street, Jonesboro) from 12 Noon until 4:00 PM. This event will be free to the public. We will have vendors, artisans, arts & crafts, live music, food trucks, giant inflatables, games & prizes, and fun for the entire family!
We will also host a "Leave what you Can, Take what you Need" (canned & boxed) food and hygiene products table. If you can donate to this, please let us know.
