The Miracle League of Jonesboro and Sigma Pi fraternity will host the Fourth Annual Firetruck Pull at 11 a.m. April 8 at Centennial Bank Stadium at Arkansas State University.

The event brings together co-ed teams from all over northeast Arkansas with a goal of raising funds for the park that provides entertainment geared toward kids and adults with special needs.

“The Miracle League is one of Jonesboro’s greatest successes,” Mayor Harold Perrin said, “and the fact that so many residents gave and continue to give to its success is one of my greatest sources of pride.”

The facility, which includes a playground with 29 pieces of handicap-accessible equipment and the world’s largest all-inclusive ball field, was built using donated funds in 2015, but still has $400,000 outstanding debt.

While last year’s Firetruck Pull raised $1,700, Sigma Pi hopes to raise $3,000 this year to donate to The Miracle League.

Teams of up to 12 members can register at www.firetruckpull.wixsite.com/2017. Registration is $120 per team and all proceeds go to The Miracle League.

“The Miracle League is successful because of support from our community,” said Sharron Turman, managing director of The Miracle League of Jonesboro. “We couldn’t do it without fundraisers like this and the volunteers that are dedicated to putting them together."

In addition to the firetruck pull, visitors and participants can enjoy live entertainment, booths and free food and drinks.
