What is the difference between Basic 9-1-1 and Enhanced 9-1-1 Service?
Basic 9-1-1 Service - a call-taker at the local Public Service Answering Point (PSAP) must obtain the nature of the emergency and it's location by speaking with the caller or receiving the information via TTY/TDD.

Enhanced 9-1-1 Service - the call-taker at the PSAP has access to a display that shows the caller's phone number and address. Currently, most if not all of the counties with 9-1-1 coverage have Enhanced 9-1-1.
